Edible Mushrooms: A forager's guide to the wild fungi of Britain, Ireland and Europe is the most comprehensive guide to European fungi foraging ever written. It has sold over 25,000 copies since its publication in 2016. Most of the photographs (over 90%) are my own, taken over a six year period when teaching foraging was my main source of income. It required ground-breaking research - there was a considerable amount of conflicting information about both edibility and culinary value, and the only way to resolve it was to actually try eating the fungi in question. Which meant I had to find them.
